Over the past several years, AI development has largely focused on models, algorithms and applications. Today, as AI moves into real-world settings such as corporate operations, intelligent manufacturing, financial services, medical research and content production, competition is shifting from technology demonstrations to large-scale delivery.

Alphabet’s capital expenditure reached US$91.4 billion in 2025, with the vast majority invested in servers, data centers and networking equipment.
As capital moves beyond software development into servers, chips, data centers and energy facilities, AI is becoming far more than an algorithmic race. It is driving a new and extensive cycle of infrastructure construction.
Growing demand for computing power is also extending value across the supply chain. High-performance chips, servers, high-speed networks, data center construction, liquid cooling systems, electrical equipment and intelligent operations are moving from behind the scenes of AI toward the center of its value chain.
A data center is not simply a facility filled with servers. It is a complex system that must operate reliably around the clock.
As the power density of AI servers increases, more computing equipment must be supported within the same physical space, creating greater electricity loads and cooling requirements. According to the latest research from the International Energy Agency, the power density of AI servers increased approximately elevenfold between 2020 and 2025 and is expected to rise significantly again by 2027.
This raises a practical question: future competition in computing power will depend not only on who possesses more chips, but also on who can secure reliable energy, dependable grid access and efficient energy management.
For some data center projects, the lead time for power supply can be longer than the deployment cycle for servers. Even when computing equipment is ready, insufficient grid capacity or incomplete energy infrastructure may prevent those resources from becoming operational.
Energy has therefore evolved from a data center operating expense into a strategic factor affecting site selection, construction schedules, delivery capabilities and long-term returns. The value of a computing asset can no longer be assessed solely by the number of devices installed or their theoretical performance. Energy sources, utilization efficiency, supply reliability and total operating costs must also be considered.

AI workloads are characterized by high demand, continuous operation and significant fluctuations in electricity consumption. Traditional backup power systems are designed primarily to address short-term outages, while the new generation of data centers requires a more flexible energy support system.
Energy storage can provide additional power when demand rises rapidly, help manage loads during periods of peak electricity pricing, and support the integration of solar, wind and other renewable energy sources. In doing so, it can improve both the resilience and sustainability of data center operations.
The role of energy storage in computing infrastructure is therefore changing. It is no longer limited to emergency backup; it is increasingly contributing to energy management and operational optimization.

The expansion of AI applications increases demand for computing power. Growing compute demand accelerates data center construction. Data center expansion amplifies electricity and cooling requirements. Energy supply, storage systems and intelligent scheduling ultimately determine whether computing infrastructure can operate reliably and efficiently.
The most competitive data centers of the future will not be defined simply by how many servers they own, but by their ability to integrate computing resources, energy supply, storage systems and industrial demand into a coordinated and efficient operating platform.
Based on its assessment of these industry trends, SHINDEV joined Huarui SmartLink and Beta Creative Tech in Hong Kong, China, in August 2026 to launch a strategic cooperation totaling US$80 million. Together, the three parties are developing a new AI computing infrastructure ecosystem.
Since the cooperation was launched, the three parties have maintained close coordination in accordance with the agreed strategic plan. Work continues across computing infrastructure solutions, resource integration, industrial use-case development and long-term operating models. Progress has been smooth, with the overall partnership maintaining positive momentum.
The five-year strategic plan between SHINDEV and Beta Creative Tech is also moving from its overall framework into implementation. The two parties will continue exploring systematic and sustainable development paths across public computing networks, private enterprise computing, high-density computing for AIGC, AIDC computing pools and continuous computing services for large AI models.
Progress to date has further supported SHINDEV’s earlier investment research assessment: the long-term opportunities created by AI will not remain limited to models and applications. They will continue expanding into foundational areas such as computing power, data centers, energy security and industrial operations.
This represents both an understanding of the industry’s direction and an important step in SHINDEV’s evolution from identifying and connecting value to actively participating in value creation.
